My name is Akhtar Hameed. I'm living in Canada for the past 13 years. At present, I'm in Toronto. My sister in Pakistan watched you on a TV show and recommended me to contact you.<br />

I came to Canada in 2000. During this period of time, I married twice in Pakistan but none of them could succeed. Secondly, I'm really having a hard time getting a job. Again, I'm unemployed these days. Although I'm well qualified with good work experience and professional essentials, its difficult for me to move on in the job market. I'm so surprised when I see people around me with minimum qualifications and less effort are better off. These are the two big tragedies of my life I just jotted down but it doesn't end here. Every single task even a tiny one I try to do encounters big obstacles; which prolong the completion time or comes out as a failure. I have seen several social/employment councilors for help and tried to follow their advices but nothing turns out to be positive. To me, it looks like something is constantly pushing me back. I am just surrounded by so many problems in my life over a decade now; they are growing all around me like mushrooms. Long st! ory short; more I try to manage it, more it gets worse. Its hard to solve this riddle.<br />

A medical doctor treats the physical body; a psychologist counsels the mind and emotions; and the spiritual leaders and priests attend to the soul. The healer must work to balance everything... the mind, body, emotions and soul or spirit.<br />

Anything, which blocks or deprives a cell of energy, will weaken it. When a cell is weakened, the cell sends out a pain signal to the brain requesting energy to alleviate the problem. If the brain has enough bio-energy in reserve, and it hears the signal clearly, it will send the appropriate amount of energy to the cell, which it will use to operate the automatic repair, maintenance, rejuvenation, and replacement process. When the process reaches a certain level of automatic repair, the pain signal is no longer needed and begins to reduce itself or turn off.<br />

The placebo effect asserts that a person will feel better after a treatment if they expect that they will. Sometimes the placebo effect has been cited as being the only reason for any noticeable improvement in health when, alternative healing methods, in particular crystal healing therapy is employed.<br />

The measure of how effective gemstones are in your life should not be gauged by the experience of a single crystal healing session. On some days you may be more sensitive and open to the crystal healing process than others. I always suggest that it is best to have short, regular crystal healing sessions rather than to try and "fix" everything all at once.<br />

Over time you will begin to notice that your well being improves with the regular crystal healing sessions. You'll notice that you cope better with difficult situations and that you feel more settled and balanced after several short crystal healing sessions.<br />

There are no rules! Use gemstones however, whenever, and wherever you feel is best. There may be "accepted" connections between certain colors and chakras or other relationships, but trust your inner knowingness, its your body after all.<br />
Trust your own intuition! You may feel drawn to a particular colour, shape, or "feel" of a healing crystal. Know that you will find what you need at the right time. I often buy a new crystal without knowing its properties, then learn that it's just right for whatever issue I'm dealing with.<br />
Bigger or more perfect is not always better. Small, odd-shaped, included, or even partially damaged crystals can have very powerful healing energies and all crystals have their own stories to tell.<br />
Some shout, some whisper. From some you may get a big reaction, and little or nothing from others. You may even find one and not know what to do with it for a while. I have some that haven't yet revealed their purpose to me, but remember right time or place and you will know.<br />
Should a stone disappear or break, let it go, it has done its "dance", you did nothing "wrong" to it. (Of course, give your crystals a comfy place to stay safe when they're not in use and blanket them with love.)<br />

Crystal Healing Techniques<br />

Crystal healing techniques, lay-outs and methods are performed to re-align the body's energy fields and to further open the chakras to promote the overall feeling of well being.<br />

Any disharmony collected from the auric fields will be trapped and retained in the etheric body or field (first layer of the aura) which contains the energies released through and into the chakras.<br />

In other words the crystals that surround the body of the person being healed set up a very specific and complex electromagnetic force field which you, the healer, will smooth out and re-direct with your hands. This is one of the crystal healing techniques I use very often and you will require seven clear quartz crystals about the same size and weight, either natural or tumbled. Lie down and place a crystal on each of the seven major chakra centres. If a crystal rolls to a different position three times, leave it where it is. It is likely the body is moving it where it needs to be. You will find that some of the crystals will feel very heavy, like they are sinking into your skin. Others will be so light that you aren't sure they are still there. Some crystals will feel very cold, others extremely warm or even electric. You may also feel like you are floating or receive inner visions of colour or patterns. Each individual is different. Leave the stones in place for at least three or four minutes. The body will find its own balance.<br />

This is an excellent layout to use for stress release in our fast paced society. I have used this layout with success on people from all walks of life starting from the executive to the stay at home mom with the pressures of raising a family. I have found it to be one of the best crystal healing tecniques for stress release.<br />

You will need seven clear quartz crystal points. This time do not place them on the body, rather place them on the floor or mat around your body pointing outward, one above your head, one below your feet, at your shoulders on either side and at your knees on either side. Lie still for three or four minutes. This will release stress. Then turn the points inwards to recharge and energize the chakra centres. Lie still for another three or four minutes.<br />

Aligning and Balancing the Chakras with Crystals<br />

Many healers agree that one of the most popular crystal healing techniques is the chakra layout. For this healing technique you will need one red stone, one orange, one yellow, one green or pink, one light blue, one dark blue, one white, clear or violet, and one dark stone. All stones should be approximately the same size and weight. This method is the same as the first, except that coloured stones are used instead of clear quartz crystals. The dark stone or smoky quartz should be placed at the feet for grounding. What is a Positive Affirmation?<br />

Like anything else, to be able to use them we have to understand what they are?<br />

To Affirm: Means to state something firmly and publicly.<br />

The word Affirmation has a few meanings:<br />

The act or an instance of affirming; state of being affirmed.<br />
The assertion that something exists or is true.<br />
Something that is affirmed; a statement or proposition that is declared to be true.<br />
Confirmation or ratification of the truth or validity of a prior judgment, decision, etc.<br />
Law. A solemn declaration accepted instead of a statement under oath.<br />

As I said at the beginning of this page Positive Affirmations are powerful statements that are used to build a positive internal dialog and by consistently repeating these positive statements or declarations to yourself, you create positive unconscious thoughts. These new, positive, productive thoughts will then replay automatically throughout your life and each time they replay, they'll reinforce the new positive inner-image you have of yourself and your life in general.<br />

Devote some special times during the day for repeating them.<br />

Before you start, ask yourself whether you really want to get what you want to affirm for. Keep in mind that should you have doubts and you are not really sure that you want what you are about to affirm, your doubts will stand in your way.<br />

Affirm with love, faith, feeling and interest, and feel and believe that your desire has already been fulfilled. This kind of thinking will accelerate its fulfillment.<br />
<br />
It is natural for the mind to bring up doubts and negative thoughts, especially if your current environment and situation are very different from what you want to achieve. Persevere, and do not let your negative thoughts and doubts conquer you.<br />
<br />
The best way to use your affirmations is to read them 3 times a day; once in the morning, once in the afternoon and once at night before you go to bed, at a minimum, you should read them at least once a day. There are many ways you can do this.<br />

Here are a few examples to help give you some ideas of where to put your affirmations.<br />

One of the most creative methods I've heard of, is using your PC's screen saver to pop up a graphical image of your affirmation. I've seen people use from a simple text scroll for their affirmation, to a little more creative graphical image that has the affirmation with a supporting picture next to the words. Each time the screen saver pops up, the affirmation is read.<br />

Affirmations... how to create them...<br />
<br />
Creating Affirmations is a powerful technique that is not well understood. There are a lot of information available on this subject nowadays, but very few really know how to create them correctly. Start by taking some time to think about areas in your life you would like to improve and how you might want your life to be. It is worth taking some time over this process. Write the most important ones down in a list.<br />
<br />
You will be well on your way to creating affirmations that work by keeping the following guidelines in mind:<br />
<br />
The "P" Factor<br />
Just like the "P" factor – position, position, position - in property we have the "P" factor in affirming – positive, personal, present (in the now).<br />
<br />
Be POSITIVE - Use the most positive terms you can. Rather than saying "I am not fat", say "I choose to stay slim". The word "not" will be discarded by your unconscious mind, as it cannot distinguish positive from negative and will therefore hear "I am fat" which it will then seek to prove. Especially if you are a bit overweight, and are working at changing your beliefs around body image.<br />
<br />
Use the PRESENT - You want your mind to know it has already happened. Make them short and specific. I suggest you keep in mind that the affirmation has to be believable to work. If you say "I have a million bucks", your mind will not believe you, need I say why? Combine with the choice method and rather say "I choose to have a million bucks". Here you might want to give yourself a time frame but always remember "believability". Your mind will do its best to bring it into reality.<br />
<br />
PERSONALIZE - Personalize them with your name. As your unconscious mind only works for you, not for others, saying "My partner finds me attractive and loves me" will not be effective, because you have no control over your partner. Rather say "I choose to feel attractive and loved by my partner", as with this statement you are only controlling your own feelings.<br />
<br />
Make them short and specific. I choose, I am, I can and I will are statements of self-belief to start them with. As you are learning to do affirmations, write them down so you will remember exactly what you want to say.<br />
<br />
So this brings us to the foundation to an effective and successful affirmation.<br />
<br />
Believability<br />
<br />
First and foremost your affirmation must be believable to your unconscious mind.<br />
<br />
In every instance this is the stage where most of the affirmations people use, fall apart.<br />
<br />
For instance, you are so broke that you cannot even afford to pay attention... YET you now repeat to yourself "I earn 10,000 pounds or dollars per month", believable to your mind? I don't think so!<br />
<br />
Would you not agree that this is an unrealistic if not completely unbelievable message you are giving to the unconscious mind at this point while hoping for and not believing in a positive response.<br />
<br />
Here's a Suggestion<br />
<br />
Always start by making choices and one of the best and easiest ways to do this is to begin your affirmations by using the words "I choose", so as opposed to:<br />
<br />
"I earn 10,000 ponds or dollars per month"<br />
<br />
Why not rather say "I choose to earn 10,000 pounds or dollars per month"<br />
<br />
Try it!<br />
<br />
Can you feel the difference? Even though you are not earning it yet, you are making a quantum leap in getting there by choosing to do so.<br />
<br />
You now have the foundation, and are ready for the first building block to your successful affirmation.<br />
<br />
<br />
Your unconscious mind continuously hunts for proof.<br />
<br />
As your unconscious mind can not distinguish between positive or negative, right or wrong, good or bad it will hunt for proof either way.<br />
<br />
Countless people stay in poverty because they associate pain, bad, wrong and so forth with money.<br />
<br />
<br />
Think on this for a moment...<br />
<br />
Every time you have to spend money, you think of your loans or your outstanding and unpaid bills which in turn unintentionally causes you crucial pain. Or whenever you desire financial abundance or prosperity your immediate response is, "It is wrong, I’m a bad person for desiring money" because most of us were raised to believe that scarcity is good and "being rich" is bad.<br />
<br />
Now... what to do?<br />

As it is the feeling you attach to money that makes you rich or poor.<br />
<br />
So the logical question is... how can you turn this to your advantage?<br />
<br />
You are absolutely right... Next time you go out shopping, think of the pleasure of being able to spend as much money as you want to, on whatever you desire and feel the pleasure instead of feeling pain.<br />
<br />
What would happen if you associated pleasure with spending money?<br />
<br />
Why not try the following?<br />
<br />
At the moment you take out your money or credit card, say this affirmation to yourself "I always have more than enough to spend."<br />
<br />
This affirmation is always true, as long as you have money left in your pocket (no matter how much), so the unconscious mind will believe it.<br />
<br />
<br />
AHA! Why not combine the choice method which is the foundation with the proof method which is the building block.<br />
<br />
For example next time you spend money say: "I choose to feel (foundation) that I always have more than enough to spend." You have money left in your pocket (building block), so the unconscious mind will believe it.<br />
<br />
Observe how you feel. With these methods only a few times of real life choices and proof will make your unconscious mind believe it.<br />
<br />
Next time you desire financial abundance instead of thinking it is bad or wrong, think of the good you can do, the opportunities you can give those close to you, look around you and immediately give thanks for one thing you have, any one thing YOU HAVE!<br />

There are twelve Major, eight Extraordinary, and a host of Minor Meridians. Each Major Meridian corresponds with an organ of the body, and is classified either as<br />

Your body itself has Yin and Yang facets, the outer sides of limbs are more Yang, the inner sides more Yin and the Yin meridians flow upwards and the Yang meridians flow downwards.<br />
<br />
Because Yin and Yang are complementary, a dis-ease or problem of a Yang organ or meridian can be treated via its' Yin counterpart (and vice-versa) so, for example, heart problems can be treated using the Large Intestine Meridian and so on.<br />
<br />
It is on these Meridians that the various points exist which are used in complementary therapies such as acupuncture or acupressure. It is also these Meridians that connect all parts of the body with the areas on the feet and hands which are used as pressure points in reflexology.<br />
<br />
All dis-eases (physical, mental, emotional or Spiritual) are due to an imbalance of Ki.<br />
<br />
It can be either an excess or a deficiency of Ki, the flow of Ki is sluggish or too fast or there might be a blocked or broken Meridian.<br />
<br />

How can we work with the Meridians?<br />
<br />
One of the easiest ways to use the them for healing is by running a hand over the path of the meridian. To strengthen a weak meridian, the meridian is "run" forwards, from its beginning to its end. To weaken or sedate a meridian that is over-energized and that is drawing energy from other systems, the meridian is run backwards from end to beginning.<br />
<br />
For an example, to relax and calm stressful energy by sedating the Triple Warmer:<br />
<br />
"Running" a meridian in its usual direction strengthens its energy, and running a meridian backwards weakens, sedates, or calms it. When the triple warmer is over-energized, the goal is to calm it.<br />
<br />
To run a meridian backward, touch the end point, then glide your hand over the area through which the meridian passes, finishing by touching the beginning point. The exact path of the meridian is not important: only that you touch the exact start and end points.<br />
<br />
Sedating the Triple Warmer: Use the opposite hand to touch the outside edge of the eyebrow, furthest from your nose. Then pass your hand back (away from your face), over and around your ear, down the back of your neck, across the back of your shoulder, and down the outside of your arm and the back of your hand. Touch the fourth finger (the "ring finger") at the base of the nail.<br />
<br />
Now repeat this motion, gently, at least three times on each side of your body and it's done!<br />
<br />
Just that easy.<br />

Easy Self-Healing Technique<br />

This is an easy "all-round" healing technique:<br />

Grasp the inside joint of each knee, at the point where it bends, with the palm of your opposite hand, hold it for up to 5 minutes.<br />

This is an amazing technique and works for just about anything, since it helps to clear blockages in all of the meridians and to re-harmonizes the Ki flow throughout them. This healing technique gives a general "lift" to your energies.<br />

It works well for stomach cramps, headaches and when you have bronchitis or similar dis-ease it even promotes easier breathing.<br />

12 Major Meridians<br />
<br />
Healing the meridians is based on the concept that an insufficient supply of ki, chi or life force makes a person vulnerable to disease. Ki flows continuously from one meridian to another and any break in the flow is an indication of imbalance. If a person's vitality or energy is recognizably diminished it is an indication that the body's organs or tissues are functioning poorly, therefore the Ki flow is inadequate.<br />
<br />
The twelve major meridians correspond to specific human organs: kidneys, liver, spleen, hearth, lungs, pericardium, bladder, gall bladder, stomach, small and large intestines, and the triple burner (body temperature regulator).<br />

Lungs (Yin) and Large Intestine (Yang)<br />

Lung:<br />
<br />
The lungs govern respiration and Ki intake. Deficient lung Ki leaves the body open to viral or bacterial infections such as colds and flu. Coughing and congestive diseases are due to Rebellious Ki - Ki which is flowing upwards, rather than downwards to the kidneys.<br />
<br />
Other problems associated with the lungs include:<br />
<br />
abnormal sweating and inflammations in the upper part of the body<br />
problems with the nose and sense of smell<br />
all skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis (this is because the<br />
lungs control the metabolic system which distributes liquid to the skin)<br />

The Large Intestine:<br />
<br />
The large intestine extracts water from waste material passed on to it by the small intestine before excreting it as solid matter. All abdominal pains are connected with this organ and meridian (which can be a symptom of blocked Ki).<br />

Spleen (Yin) and Stomach (Yang)<br />
<br />
The Spleen Meridian:<br />

The spleen governs several different bodily processes:<br />
<br />
it regulates digestion<br />
it helps to control the flow of blood within blood vessels<br />
it affects muscle and limb tone (because it helps distribute nutrients containing purified Ki around the body)<br />
Some of the problems which can be related to an imbalanced spleen or Spleen Meridian:<br />
<br />
general fatigue<br />
abdominal problems (pain, distension or bloating, an uncomfortable feeling of fullness, diarrhea)<br />
lack of appetite<br />
prolapsed internal organs<br />
weak or flabby muscles<br />

The Stomach:<br />

The stomach is responsible for digesting food, extracting Ki from the food and passing it on to the spleen and the intestines. All digestive problems can be traced back to the stomach. On an emotional level this organ is concerned with worry, with nervousness (feeling of butterfly's in the stomach), and also with acceptance (either being able or not able to "stomach" someone or something). Heart (Yin) and Small Intestine (Yang)<br />

The Heart:<br />
<br />
Your heart pumps blood around your body, and any imbalance or blockage here can show up in a number of ways:<br />

palpitations<br />
short or shallow breathing<br />
chest pains<br />
problems with temperature regulation (hot flushes, cold sweats or a constant feeling of cold)<br />
dizziness<br />
irritability<br />
insomnia<br />
The heart is related to feeling joy. It also regulates a form of Ki called Shen (this does not translate easily into English it means "Ki" which is energy, "brain" and "spirit" all at once). Imbalanced Shen can cause psychological problems. Back to Table<br />

The Small Intestine:<br />
<br />
The small intestine extracts nourishment and Ki from digested food, which it receives from the stomach, and distributes it through the body. It then passes waste material on to the large intestine.<br />

Problems associated with the small intestine include:<br />

abdominal distension and poor digestion<br />
neuralgia<br />
acne<br />
swollen lymph glands (especially in the throat)<br />
sore or stiff shoulders<br />
poor circulation or weakness in the legs<br />
constant feelings of cold<br />

Kidneys (Yin) and Bladder (Yang)<br />

The Kidneys:<br />
<br />
Production of bone marrow and blood are both controlled by the kidneys. The kidneys also regulate growth and the development of the reproductive functions (because they store sexual energy). They also play a part in regulating the body's Yin/Yang balance.<br />
<br />
Kidney problems include:<br />
<br />
Backache<br />
genital-urinary disorders<br />
asthma (due to deficient kidney Ki)<br />
tinnitus (due to deficient kidney Ki)<br />

Bladder:<br />

The bladder is responsible for excreting liquid waste from the body.<br />

Pericardium:<br />

The pericardium is a muscular, fluid-filled sac which surrounds, lubricates and protects the heart. It also draws off excess energy from the heart and dissipates it from the body through an energy point in the palm of the hand. This is an important point to remember, as concentrating energy in your heart centre then directing it out through the hands is a fundamental technique in most forms of energy healing and vibrational medicine. The Triple Warmer:<br />
<br />
This is certainly the least familiar and most difficult concept in Chinese Medicine for Westerners to understand. San Jiao (Triple Heater) is a Chinese description of a metabolism rather than any particular organ: it is a system which co-ordinates and controls the body's heat/moisture balance, and has "...a name, but no form...".<br />
<br />
Each of the three Warmers relates to a different area of the body:<br />
<br />
Upper Warmer: the upper part of the body, including the head, neck, chest, heart and lungs, ... the Upper Burner has been compared to a mist which spreads the blood and Ki.<br />
Middle Warmer: the middle of the body between the chest and the navel, including the solar plexus, the stomach, the liver and spleen, ... the Middle Burner is like a foam which churns up food in the process of digestion.<br />
Lower Warmer: the lower abdomen, including the liver (again!), kidneys and bladder, ... the Lower Burner resembles a swamp where all impure substances are excreted.<br />
Because the Triple Warmer covers such a wide range of organs, a wide range of disorders are associated with it which includes:<br />

hearing problems (including deafness and tinnitus)<br />
fatigue<br />
breathing difficulties<br />
urinary disorders<br />

Liver (Yin) and Gall Bladder (Yang)<br />

The Liver:<br />
<br />
The liver is a major organ for storing Ki and regulating its' flow throughout the body. It also governs menstruation and the female sexual cycle and ensures the flexibility of ligaments and tendons.<br />

Physical problems associated with the liver include:<br />
<br />
PMS<br />
PMT and any menstrual disorders<br />
jaundice<br />
dry skin<br />
stiff joints<br />
vertigo<br />
dry eyes and blurred vision<br />

There are a range of emotional problems which can be caused by imbalanced or blocked Liver Ki for example:<br />

a yellowish tinge to the tongue, skin and urine<br />

The Extraordinary Meridians<br />
<br />
These act as reservoirs of Ki for the Major Meridians, and help it to circulate through the body. They also regulate the cycle of complete change which our body undergoes every seven years.<br />

For most general healing purposes including Reiki Healing, you need to know about only three (all of which are used in exercises to help you learn how to circulate Ki), although there are eight in total (the last five are rarely used or encountered, even in the most advanced healing and esoteric work).<br />
<br />
Du Mai - The Governing Meridian.<br />
<br />
Starting at the coccyx, this meridian runs up the spine and terminates at the mouth's upper palate, just behind the teeth. It is the main channel for Defensive Ki, and controls all of the Yang meridians.<br />
<br />
Ren Mai - The Conception Meridian.<br />
<br />
This meridian governs all Yin meridians. It starts at the tip of the tongue and runs down the front of the body to the centre of the perineum.<br />
<br />
Dai Mai - The Girdle Meridian.<br />
<br />

Secret #1: Meditation Is No 'Quick Fix'<br />

Meditation is no 'quick fix' as far as personal development is concerned. I'm sure however that you've seen lots of quick-fix, "wealth without work" approaches to personal development. It's often claimed that you'll experience exotic states of blissful meditation and/or that you'll quickly bring about transformational changes in your life. While I'm sure some programs have something to offer, I also know there is no real short cut to LASTING transformation and happiness.<br />

Meditation and mind-body training in general require PRACTICE. Those people that practice usually find the rewards are well worth it. I recommend you try a few different styles and see what feels right for you. Find one or two styles that feel good for you and stick to that, but be careful not to get stuck in the technique. While there are a number of important guidelines common to all styles of meditation practice, the most important guideline is this:<br />

This doesn't just mean we need to take action in our outer world, for example, having an honest conversation with a friend or paying a bill. It also means we must actively request the assistance of the unconscious in a clear and persistent way.<br />

What is Meditation?<br />

What then, in laymen's terms, is meditation?<br />
<br />
I quote Sri Chinmoy when he says: "Meditation is acceptance. It is the acceptance of life within us, without us and all around us. Acceptance of life is the beginning of human satisfaction. Transformation of life is the culmination of divine satisfaction."<br />
Meditation is merely sitting, relaxing and being in the now.<br />
<br />
Yes . . . it is just that uncomplicated, sitting, relaxing and being in the now discovering, learning and understanding; not criticizing your thoughts, but simply watching them and learning about yourself from them.<br />
<br />
Meditation can be as simple as "time out", the getting "lost in thought" moment, "taking a deep breath - hmm hmmm", the "waking up and smell the roses" moment.<br />
<br />
Our lives are so full of the demands of work, family, friends and organized leisure interests that we have no time to just "sit and stare". Think of those rare moments when your mind "dipped out" for an instant and you landed up being able to just "stare" into the distance.<br />
<br />
Cast your mind back to when you experienced one of those moments . . . your thoughts were so calm and harmonious that you felt as if you had no thoughts at all. Meditation is very much like these "sit and stare" moments.<br />
<br />
We get so caught up in the "rat race", planning our days, gearing up to work towards our future, raising children, worrying about our obligations, the list is never ending that we hardly observe anything in our hustle and bustle to "get on" with life anymore, let alone take notice and pleasure from this moment, the here and now, we more often than not miss out on the simple pleasures of life;<br />

a beautiful sunset,<br />
the innocent wonder of a child,<br />
the comfort of a log fire in winter,<br />
the softness of a baby's skin,<br />
the singing of a bird,<br />
the smell of fresh roasted coffee or a "cuppa" tea,<br />
or even just a deep breath of fresh, crisp air on a spring morning.<br />
These simple pleasures in life are there to be seen, heard, touched, tasted and experienced, even if you live in the "rat race" of the most industrial and commercial cities.<br />
<br />
It is important to remember that meditation is not dependent on the body, you do not have to be a contortionist or a monk to meditate, you don't have to fast, no special physical exercises or breathing control exercises are necessary for you to enjoy the benefits of meditation on either a mental, physical or emotional level; although if you already practice physical or breathing control exercises (and you understand what you are doing) there is no reason to stop. If they are unnecessary or wrong for you they will drop away naturally.<br />

The Spirituality of Meditation<br />
<br />
Let's take a quick look at meditation from a spiritual physics point of view and how it can and does affect you, the individual as well as the world in which you live.<br />
<br />
How often have you heard the human race being referred to as "Light Beings" but what does this mean?<br />
<br />
According to the scientific community light is energy which produces hundreds of trillions of vibrations per second in the form of light waves. Let's just say that the "source" of this light or energy is within you - the individual - and these light waves or energy waves are eternally emanating from your consciousness as lines of force and that these waves or lines of force govern electrons and causes atoms to cluster in an energy field as a thought-form which is then "moved down" through the dimensions to manifest on the physical plane.<br />
<br />
We know from science that all things of "matter" whether it is visible or not are made up of atoms, or pure energy therefore all things seen or not is energy in motion and this energy of all things are controlled by thought.<br />
<br />
Your consciousness is not only the transmitter of energy but also the directing force that destroys or creates.<br />
<br />
Now depending on the frequency of your consciousness, a high or low vibration, you will either heal or harm; there is no in-between. This is why pure and harmonious thoughts are of vital importance to your own well being as well as that of the world and one of the ways to attain this state is through meditation.<br />
<br />
It is a good way of taking "time out" and allowing you to tune into, appreciate and experience the moment.<br />
<br />
It may be sitting back at your desk and enjoying a cup of fresh roasted coffee, watching a breathtaking sunset, walking your dog along the seashore or in the park, sitting under a tree on a warm summer's day watching the clouds change shape, or just noticing and experiencing the intensity and power of silence in a still room and enjoying it.<br />

Meditation is the quality of awareness that we bring to an act.<br />
<br />
It is about raising our levels of consciousness so that we are aware of our activity and of any thoughts and emotions that we are experiencing in the moment as we do it.<br />
<br />
Meditation is a powerful tool that promotes deep relaxation in all areas of your being, slowing down the brain waves into a relaxed alpha pattern similar to deep sleep. Try Visualizing and Meditating with Color.<br />

Visualizing and Meditating with Color<br />
<br />
<br />
Visualizing and meditating with color are powerful healing tools if used regularly, healing this way can be very potent because as we experience different color vibrations they in turn affect our energy bodies. To explain this further... each color of the light spectrum has it's own unique vibration with specific healing characteristics and those vibrations interact with and affect our personal vibrations (color is light, light is vibration and we are made up of vibrations). An imbalance in our personal vibration is the major culprit behind various disorders ranging from high blood pressure to skin disorders as well as psychological problems. Color can therefore have a profound effect on your mood, vitality and well-being!<br />
<br />
It takes a bit of time to get into visualizing and meditating with color but if you are willing to spend the time you will benefit greatly. I suggest that you start with the colors displayed through flowers or minerals finding either or both in the color you need.<br />
<br />
These colors are living and vibrant and have a great healing capacity. Yellow and reds are stimulating; blues and greens are calming. I also recommend that you choose the same time each day to practice visualizing or meditating with color because this creates a good habit that is easy to follow.<br />
<br />
Do not be concerned about doing things correctly. There is neither right nor wrong in visualizing and meditating with color: only what benefits you. Follow your feelings, if it feels good or seems right, go with it and if it makes you uncomfortable, then change.<br />
<br />
Visualizing with Color<br />
<br />
The following is an example of a color visualization when visualizing or meditating with color that you might like to work with.<br />
<br />
<br />
For this a red tulip or rose is needed.<br />
Place this in a vase where you can see it comfortably.<br />
Look at its shape and color and then, when you feel ready, close your eyes and visualize the head of the tulip or rose increasing in size until it is large enough for you to walk inside and sit or lie at its centre.<br />
When you are comfortably positioned inside the tulip or rose, imagine the sun shining through its petals, creating shafts of soft red light which bathe you from head to foot.<br />
Try to feel the effect that this has upon you physically, emotionally and mentally.<br />
After approximately 15 minutes, walk out of the tulip or rose on to one of its green leaves.<br />
Pause here for a moment to absorb this complementary color through your feet, before walking down the tulip's leaf or the roses stem back to where you are sitting.<br />
Visualize the tulip or rose returning to its normal size before gently opening your eyes.<br />
Work with a different flower or mineral regularly.<br />

Meditating with Color<br />
<br />
When visualizing or meditating with color, this method is best suited to those of you who have some experience with meditation and if you don't have experience read - How to Meditate. When you meditate it is important to find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. The ideal time is early morning after a good night's sleep which will eliminate the temptation to fall asleep. The sitting position adopted should be one that is comfortable and allows the spine to be straight. If you choose to sit on a chair, make sure that both feet are placed on the floor with your hands, palms downwards, on your knees.<br />
<br />
<br />
Close your eyes and start your meditation with a few minutes of rhythmic breathing. This helps to quieten the mind and relax the body. When your mind has become quiet and your body relaxed, imagine that you are sitting in front of a giant quartz crystal.<br />
Standing up, walk round the crystal (see healing properties of crystals) to find the entrance to its inner chamber.<br />
When you have located this door, open it and walk through into a room constructed from crystal.<br />
On the floor lies a deep indigo thick-piled carpet upon which are scattered indigo and white cushions.<br />
Hanging from the ceiling are spirals of indigo glass balls which fill the room with wide shafts light.<br />
Walk around this room to see what else there is to discover before taking some of the cushions to place under your head and beneath your knees.<br />
When you are lying comfortably with your cushions in position, take note of your body bathed in the indigo light flooding the room.<br />
If you listen carefully you will hear gentle tones being sounded by the crystal.<br />
Become aware of your physical body and experience how this color induces a wonderful state of peace and relaxation in your body and mind and how it creates space for you to be yourself.<br />
When you feel refreshed and re-energized, stand up and walk out through the door of the crystal.<br />
At the end of your meditation it is important to close down the major chakras. These are your doors to higher consciousness which open during meditation.<br />
Close them down by visualizing each chakra as an open flower and starting with the crown chakra, visualize each flower closing back to a bud.<br />
Start to become conscious of your physical body sitting on the chair.<br />
Now open your eyes revitalized and energized for the day that lies before you.<br />
Experiment with the above meditation using different colors in the crystal room.<br />

Meditation - How to Meditate?<br />
<br />
How to meditate is quite simple as any act can become a meditation; it is a question of bringing our attention to what we are doing and taking notice. There are many meditation techniques. Some of the techniques are quite simple and can be picked up with a little practice. Others require training by an experienced instructor.<br />
<br />
In Christian spiritual training, meditation means thinking with concentration about some topic. In the Eastern sense, meditation may be viewed as the opposite of thinking about a topic. Here the objective is to become detached from thoughts and images and opening up silent gaps between them. The result is a quietening of our mind and is sometimes called relaxation response. In Christian mystical practice, this practice is called `contemplation`.<br />
<br />
To meditate, one must break away, however briefly, from the world. Turn off your cell phone and pager, disconnect the fax machine, shut down the computer and turn on the answering machine... allow no interruptions during this special time.<br />
<br />
Instead of pushing and straining yourself physically and mentally, just relax; sit in a chair, any chair will do, even the chair at your desk, as long as it is comfortable.<br />
<br />
Sit with your feet flat on the floor, hands resting in your lap or on the arms of the chair, and your head comfortably balanced. It is not a good idea to slump as it is a relaxed attentiveness that you desire.<br />
Bring your awareness to your breath as it is a good way of bringing attention into the "here and now". Use each out-breath to relax a little more deeply.<br />
Enjoy and observe.<br />
Meditation Share - Share your meditation or experience with others as we could all benefit and learn from one another.<br />
<br />
Meditation is about relaxing and letting go into deeper levels of your being, and sometimes this is best achieved through a passive "non-doing" state.<br />
<br />
Above all it is about staying with the moment, about being in touch with your surroundings and your inner world, much of which is more easily reached when in the contemplative state, when you allow yourself to be "lost in thought". If you enjoy walking, for instance, you can make this your meditation.<br />
<br />
Instead of hurriedly rushing to be somewhere, slow down and take the time to feel your feet connect with the earth as you take each step.<br />
<br />
As you walk, be mindful of what you are doing, thinking and feeling, and be aware of your energy flowing through your body. Take time to look around, to experience just walking.<br />
<br />
Whenever I make the above suggestion of taking a stroll I have the recollection of reading about the 10th Century Buddhist monk, who said:<br />
<br />
"If you walk, just walk. If you sit, just sit; but whatever you do, don't wobble."<br />
<br />
He walked up and down the same path in the forest everyday; he moved slowly, giving total attention to his feet, the movement of his feet, the changing pressures on the soles of his feet, and the reaction of the ground to his feet. A truly amazing, relaxing and pleasurable experience that you can try for yourself.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Whatever the technique of meditation, the following aspects are generally common to all of them:<br />
<br />
ATMOSPHERE - The best environment for the practice of meditation is a quiet place with minimum distractions. It sometimes helps to set up a meditating room with special pictures, icons, holy books or even burning incense sticks and soothing music in order to infuse the atmosphere with spiritual energy. It is best to sit in a well ventilated room, which receives natural light.<br />
<br />
ATTITUDE - The best attitude to follow while practicing meditation is that of a receptive observer. Try to observe either the mind or the immediate physical environment, without thinking anything in particular. Watch the mind slowly empty itself out.<br />
<br />
POSTURE - Assuming a certain posture has been central to many meditation techniques however a major characteristic of prescribed meditation postures in many traditions is that the spine is kept straight. This is true in Hindu and Buddhist yogas, in the Christian attitude of kneeling prayer, in the Egyptian sitting position, and in the Taoist standing meditation of "embracing the pillar." People with misalignments may feel uncomfortable in the beginning when assuming these postures. The spine is put back into a structurally sound line, and the weight of the body distributed around it in a balanced pattern in which gravity, not muscular tension, is the primary influence. It is possible, although it has not been conclusively proven that this postural realignment affects the state of mind.<br />
<br />
ELEMENTS OF CONCENTRATION - In Hindu meditative techniques, the object the attention dwells on is often a mantra, usually a Sanskrit word or syllable. Usually the meditator repeats an affirmation to increase positive spiritual energies. Alternately prayers or are often said for calming the mind.<br />
<br />
In Buddhism, the focus of attention is often the meditators own breathing, a luminous sphere or a translucent Buddha Statue.<br />
<br />
Whether one performs mantra meditation, Buddhist breath meditations or any other for that matter, they all fulfill all the elements required for meditating for relaxation.<br />
<br />
TIME - It is always recommended that meditation be practiced daily. The emphasis however is the regularity of practice at all costs.<br />
<br />
During meditation your business is simple awareness, nothing else. It is a time to connect to your inner Source and let go of the things and roles we get caught up in: work, parenting, concerns and responsibilities. It may be that your meditation is peaceful, or it may be fretful and full of obsessive thought. Regardless, daily meditation will have a positive effect on your life. It is a very powerful symbol for the activation of more fire and light in our lives - on both physical and subtle levels of body mind and spirit.<br />

In Christianity, candles are commonly used in worship both for decoration and ambiance, and as symbols that represent the light of God, or specifically the light of Christ. Dr. Usui, the founder of Reiki, was said to have walked through the streets of Tokyo with a lighted lantern in the daylight as a beacon for attracting Reiki students. It is a tradition to light candles on top of our birthday cakes in celebration of each cherished year of our lives.<br />

The Candle flame represents the eternal light of the soul and the connection to Source.<br />
<br />
Light Your Candle Now:<br />

Fire has always been regarded as something holy, magical and mysterious. In most societies, fire first belonged to the gods; the legend of Prometheus and the creation of humanity are but one example. Prometheus is credited with having stolen fire from the gods and given it to mortal mankind.<br />
<br />
Fire operates in all aspects of life. From volcanic fires to the fires of ordinary body heat to that all consuming fire of passion in the belly, from the solar fires to the fires of intellect, fire's presence is felt nearly everywhere.<br />
<br />
When we use the fires of candles, we are participating in the ritual of fire that has existed throughout the ages. Therefore this healing practice should be seen as an ancient ceremony of creation.<br />
<br />
Look upon the unlit candle as the unlit essence of life energy in the physical body that awaits a renewing touch of fire to help restore health to body and soul. When you light its flame, imagine you are creating light where there was no light before, bringing warmth and healing where it is needed. Following are some tips to keep in mind when lighting a candle for healing purposes:<br />
<br />
The candles colour must respond with the healing required as its vibrational force is activated, released and amplified when it is lit. (Consult this page with some colors) The colour emanates its vibration to enlighten the moment and facilitate focus.<br />
The one you choose should be cleansed and anointed before using by rubbing with a light olive oil in an upwards direction towards the wick. This process is called "dressing the candle." It strengthens the colour so that its energies are more vibrant and activated which will make them far more effective for your purpose.<br />
Once used for a specific purpose such as in healing, it should not be used for something else as this will set up conflicting vibrations.<br />
A strong affirmation of intention must be performed when the flame is lit as well as when it is extinguished as if you are firmly setting and locking the healing energy in place.<br />
Any candle will be effective. For longer, more sustained effects, church candles can be quite effective as they can burn for a long time. Do not leave a candle unattended and make sure you burn them in the right candle holders.<br />
Do not use candles to interfere with the free will of another as the rebound effect can be very dramatic.<br />
Putting out the candle should be the last thing after the healing has been done or the ritual has been performed. Visualize the area or person being healed surrounded by white light. Do not blow the candle out rather get yourself a snuffer or use wet fingers to put out the flame.<br />

Healing with Coloured Candles<br />
<br />
Coloured candles have a more meaningful significance than simply a decorative value. Their therapeutic and healing effects must never be underestimated. The various colors have a great influence upon our health, thoughts, and actions. The proper choice of color is of the utmost importance for one's success (see list below) when burning candles and when combined with prayer and faith, lighting and burning coloured candles can produce miracles.<br />
<br />
The colour of the candle and it's vibration is activated, released and amplified when it is lit. As the candle burns, the colour is released into the surrounding areas and affects those in this area. For instance lighting a candle in a healing room, during a healing, will enhance all the energies; both in the room as well as in the patient. You can also light a candle in remembrance of someone that passed on or to light their way to the next world.<br />
<br />
Two examples jump to mind here, the Catholics as well as the Jews light them for the departed, secondly in times past the wife of a sailor would put one in the window to light the way home for her husband.<br />
<br />
You can light a candle to power up any intention following the simple rules for their use. The colour of the candle that you use, is determined by your intention or the kind of healing needed. For example lighting a white candle for love, light and gratitude in your life or lighting a green one for more abundance and prosperity in your life. Red<br />
<br />
The red coloured candle are a symbol of love and health and the attainment of ambitions. It is the colour of passion and sexual potency which are expressions of our primal life force. It also helps to create a new reality.<br />

Pink<br />
<br />
Its a symbol of love and stimulates forgiveness of self or others. It awakens a consciousness of clean living and honor and helps you come to terms with emotional vulnerability. It stimulates purity of intention and it can awaken a vision of truth and success.<br />
<br />
Orange<br />
<br />
Orange coloured candles are a joyful and magnetic and a symbol of joy and creativity. It can help to attract new people, resources, animals, and other things you want in your life. When looking for the right connection as far as your career or a healing treatment is concerned orange is a good colour to use.<br />
<br />
Yellow and Gold-Yellow<br />
<br />
Yellow strengthens the mind and gives us the power to "hang in there" when all odds are against us. In it we can learn to see the fulfillment of our desires. The gold shades assist in understanding and stimulating dream activity.<br />

Green<br />
<br />
